for everyone

Letting Go. Two weeks ago, I logged in my desktop at home and was surprised to see that our 500GB external hard drive which was almost full showed free storage. I panicked. What happened to all the files?!! I started to yell at my sister through text trying to find out who to blame on what happened. Was it a virus? Was it reformatted? Can I still recover the files? I was really fuming with anger.

Since my friends are techie, of course they were from Dell, I got help in downloading a data recovery software. I saw it scanned around 300 thousand files. When it was finally done scanning, it asked for another storage where the files will be saved. I plugged my 1 terabyte external HD. It slowed the system sooo much. We had to restart. Thus, I had to scan again. Me and my sister left it during the night to finish scanning. When we woke up, the desktop crashed.

Frustration was getting more and more. I removed the 500GB and got an enclosure. When I powered it on, the light lit for a second then died. I unplugged it from the outlet. In a few minutes, I smelled something burnt. I had no idea which was it. I just prayed that it wasn't the HD.

I then brought the HD to Raymond, my friend but he too was unsuccessful in retrieving the files because it when he plugged the HD to his desktop, he also smelled something burning. I am already out of options but I am not giving up. Right now, the HD is with Mac. He will try to have a technician repair the physical hard drive so we can hopefully get the data in it.

Why is it hard to let go of memories? Till now I couldn't think yet of the idea that I will have to start from scratch again in downloading everything that I have slowly compiled and worked for in the past 5 years. All the albums that are so hard to find, all my Broadway soundtracks, all my favorite movies, my CEC files, my Videos since I started working as a teacher, everything is gone.

The only things I have left of those memories that I was able to salvage were the pictures that I was able to transfer to my 1 tera and this, my multiply. In a way, I appreciated Multiply so much because I can still recall the good times by looking at my posts here.

I still have to wait and find out what news Mac will give me about the 500GB HD. We cannot let go of the past because it gives us memories. Those memories have become a part of us and have a helped us in becoming who we are now. But then again, if something is broken and is already non-repairable, we all have no choice but to start making new memories and this time, we know how to better take care of it so we don't lose them in the future.

If the data is totally lost, I know I couldn't get the same files back but I can start downloading again and start anew. If the data is gone, there's nothing I can do.

In life, we face this situation too wherein we just couldn't let go of memories. However, we all have to deal with past memories so we can all finally have another start. As difficult as it is for me to let go of all my files, I know they will be replaced; maybe i will miss my Broadway music, and the videos that i will no longer see, but I will have more Music to download and organize and definitely more videos to take.

I am going back to Multiply so I can start saving new memories.

"I don't think I want this anymore, "
As she drops the ring to the floor.
She says to herself, "You've left before, " (yeah)
"This time you will stay gone, that's for sure." (yeah)

And he shattered something else
To drag her suitcase down the path,
To the driveway.
She had never gone that far.

Normally this would be
The time that she
Would let him talk her out of leaving,
But this time, without crying,
As she got into her car, she said,

[Chorus:]
"No
'Happily Never After'
That just ain't for me.
Because finally,
I know
I deserve better, after all (ooooh)
I'll never let another teardrop fall."

As she drove away she starts to smile, (yeah)
Realized she hadn't for a while.
No destination, she drove for miles
Wondering why she stayed in such denial.

She was laughing about the way he shattered something else (shattered something else)
To drag her suitcase down the path,
To the driveway (to the driveway),
She had never gone that far (oh, no)
Normally this would be, the time that she (yeah)
Would let him talk her out of leaving, but this time, without crying,
As she got into her car, she said,

[Chorus:]
"No
'Happily Never After'
That just ain't for me
(that just ain't for me)
Because finally,
I know I deserve better
After all
(that just ain't for me, yeah, yeah yeah, yeah)
I'll never let another teardrop fall."

I'm done, I'm done, said I'm so done, (so done, yeah).
I'm free, I'm free, so free
Free to feel the way I feel, yeah.

She inhales a breath she'd never breathed before
Don't want no drama no more.

'Cause she says " No
'Happily Never After' (after)
That just ain't for me" (oh, oh)

[Chorus:]
"I know (I know)
I deserve, better after all (ooooh, Don't wanna be, breathe)
I know I'll never let another teardrop fall"
(I'm done, I'm done)
"No
'Happily Never After' (so done)
(I'm free, I, free)
That just ain't for me" (that just ain't for me)
Because finally,
I know (I'm done, I'm done) I deserve better (so done), after all
(I'm free, I'm free)/(ooooooooo)
I'll never let another teardrop fall"

[trailing vocals]
("I'm done, "I'm done" "I'm done",
"I'm done, so done, so done")

Said I'm done, I'm done, I'm done

[Verse]
If I were a boy
Even just for a day
I’d roll outta bed in the morning
And throw on what I wanted then go
Drink beer with the guys
And chase after girls
I’d kick it with who I wanted
And I’d never get confronted for it.
Cause they’d stick up for me.

[Chorus]
If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I’d be a better man.
I’d listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause he’s taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

[Verse]
If I were a boy
I would turn off my phone
Tell everyone it’s broken
So they’d think that I was sleepin’ alone
I’d put myself first
And make the rules as I go
Cause I know that she’d be faithful
Waitin’ for me to come home (to come home)

[Chorus]
If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I’d be a better man.
I’d listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted (wanted)
Cause he’s taken you for granted (granted)
And everything you had got destroyed

[Vamp1]
It’s a little too late for you to come back
Say its just a mistake
Think I’d forgive you like that
If you thought I would wait for you
You thought wrong

[Male]
You know when you act like that
I don't think you realize how it makes me look
or feel

[Beyonce]
Act like what
Why are you so jealous
It's not like i'm sleeping with the guy

[Male]
What

[Beyonce]
What

[Male]
I said yo
Why are you so jealous
It aint like I'm sleepin with the girl
[Vamp2]
But you’re just a boy
You don’t understand
Yeah you don’t understand
How it feels to love a girl someday
You wish you were a better man
You don’t listen to her
You don’t care how it hurts
Until you lose the one you wanted
Cause you’ve taken her for granted
And everything you have got destroyed
But you’re just a boy

Post sa isang site na napuntahan ko...
RJ, tama ba ang mga ito? Hehehe

Akala ng mga tao na nasa Pilipinas
kapag nasa America ka akala nila
madami ka ng pera. Ang totoo, madami
kang utang, dahil credit card lahat

Pag wala kang credit card, ibig
sabihin wala kang kapasidad magbayad.

Akala nila mayaman ka na kase may
kotse ka na. Ang totoo, kapag hindi ka
bumili ng kotse sa America maglalakad
ka ng milya-milya sa ilalim ng init ng
araw o kaya sa snow. Walang jeepney,
tricycle o padyak sa America .

Akala nila masarap ang buhay dito sa
America . Ang totoo, puro ka trabaho
kase pag di ka nagtrabaho, wala kang
pangbayad ng bills
mo sa kotse, credit card, ilaw, tubig,
insurance, bahay at iba pa. Hindi ka
na pwedeng tumambay sa kapitbahay kase
busy din sila maghanap buhay pangbayad
ng bills nila.

Akala nila masaya ka kase nagpadala ka
ng picture mo sa Disneyland, Seaworld,
Six Flags,
Universal Studios at iba pang
attractions. Ang totoo, kailangan mo
ngumiti kase nagbayad ka ng $70+ para
makarating ka dun, kailangan mo na
naman ang 10 hours na sweldo (sa mga
regular minimum pay) mong
pinangbayad sa ticket.

Akala nila malaki na ang kinikita mo
kase dolyar na sweldo mo. Ang totoo,
malaki pagpinalit mo ng peso, pero
dolyar din ang gastos mo sa America.
Ibig sabihin ang dolyar mong kinita sa
presyong dolyar mo din gagastusin. Ang
P15.00 na sardinas sa Pilipinas $1.00
sa America , ang isang pakete ng
sigarilyo sa pilipinas P40.00, sa
America $ 6.50, ang upa mo sa bahay na
P10,000 sa Pilipinas, sa America
$1,000++.

Akala nila buhay milyonaryo ka na kase
ang ganda ng bahay at kotse mo. Ang
totoo milyon ang utang mo. Ang bago
mong kotse 5 taon
mong huhulugan. Ang bahay 30 taon mong
huhulugan. Ibig sabihin, alipin ka ng
bahay at kotse mo.

Madaming naghahangad na makarating sa
America . Lalo na mga nurses, mahirap
maging normal na manggagawa sa
Pilipinas. Madalas pagod ka sa
trabaho.

bansang pinagsilangan at malungkot
iwanan ang mga pamilya. Hindi pinupulot
ang pera dito o pinipitas. Hindi ako
naninira ng pangarap, gusto ko lang
buksan ang bintana ng
katotohanan.

It's been awhile since my recent entry. (it's been awhile daw oh!)

Work related naman!

Since we got under Allian's supervision, so many things have changed- and they changed for the better. We started well. We won 3rd place in L&D's Leadership Comic Strip making contest. We all got ARE (Advance Resolution Experts) Certified. This should have been awarded to us long ago but due to the mismanagement of u-know-who (wala na xa sa DELL!), we were left hanging back then.

And to add to recognitions we got, we have several entries to Winning Culture's Portraits of DELL. You guys probably have seen these pictures hanging on the wall!

So, I guess now i can finally say that it's really nice working at DELL. Maybe you just really need a knowledgeable manager to help you get through whatever!

The never ending Spoiled Brat Series...

I really love Yaya and Angelina!!!

Yes... this is one of the rainy days. I was proud of myself when I was able to reach the office without getting wet at all. Everything happened at the right timing. I got in the shuttle going to MOA before the hard rain started to pour.I was wearing a big smile on my face.

But that was before Papa Foo, Jass and I decided to have breakfast at One E-cOm McDonalds. I already have an idea that we can't pass by Fitness First since we were already banned from using their facilities as a hallway to get to somewhere else. So we didn't take that route. Instead, we saw this stairway that would lead us near Mcdonalds.

The rain was drizzling. I said "what the heck! let's go for it..." and so we ran through the bridge to get to the other side of the building. We were wet!!!

Suddenly, MR. INCONSIDERATE MANONG GUARD approached us and asked us from what company we're from. We proudly said "DELL". The INCONSIDERATE MANONG GUARD said "bawal po kasing dumaan dyan." We said we were just going to McDonalds. He said "Dun PO kasi yung daanan niyo..." (Pointing to the garbage exit door at the far end of the main building.)  Jassen said "hindi ba pwedeng next time nalang kasi umuulan naman?" And the stupid guard said "pano po pag ako ang pinagalitan. hindi talaga pwede. itatawag ko muna to."

Ahhh LECHE!!!! We were already wet because we crossed the bridge to get to One E-COm, then he will give us this crap of you-can't-pass-by-here-cause-you're-from-DELL bullshit! Pwes!!! Wag din kayo dadaan sa area namin!!! Yung mga galing ng building niyo... sa BABA niyo rin padaanin... Bakit pa nagkaron ng BRIDGE kung di naman pwedeng daanan??? At Phuleezzzeeee!!!! Bumabagyo kaya! Ang kapal naman ng mukha!!!! May ari kaba ng SM???

In the first place, how many percent of the customers from McDonald's, Starbucks, 711 etc... are from DELL??? Hindi ba halos 80%??? Your establishments would not profit if not for our employees...

To this MR. INCONSIDERATE MANONG GUARD... tumayo ka ng mabuti dyan sa post mo! Nararamdaman mo naman siguro ang lakas ng ulan diba??? Wag kang aalis dyan! Dahil mamaya... Kikidlatan ka na...

Stupid policy... stupid law enforcer...

Etong SayO!!!!

LOOK THINNER WITH THESE FASHION TIPS: It seems that no matter how happy we are with our bodies, we always want to look or appear slimmer. Instead of saying you're going to go to the gym, and never getting around to it, use these fashion tricks to help you look slimmer and sleeker.

1 – WEAR WIDE LEG PANTS: While at first it would seem that wide leg pants would make you look bigger than you are, in fact, the wide leg style in most cases creates a nice straight line, creating the illusion of longer legs. This, in turn, makes you look taller and is very forgiving. If you'd like something a little more interesting than traditional wide leg pants, look for cuffed leg, it's a little more chic and fun. Style Note: Try to avoid cuffed pants if you are under 5'5. Cuffed pants tend to make short legs look shorter.

2 – WEAR BOOTCUT/ SLIGHT FLARE JEANS: Jeans are an everyday item, and because they're worn so often, they should be the items that we put the most effort into buying. Bootcut jeans, and jeans with a slight flare, are going to be flattering on every body type. Again, we're going for long clean lines, and creating a soft silhouette, which really adds up to a pretty, slimming look.

3 – DON'T GET CAUGHT UP ON A SIZE: A huge and very common mistake when shopping is that we get too caught up on the number on the tag, and not the fit. Sizing runs different in all stores, so make sure you try on a variety of sizes to get the best fit. Wearing something that's too small for you can make you look a lot bigger than your actually are, so make sure you find the right fit.

4 – THE LONGER THE BETTER: One of my personal pet peeves when it comes to dressing is pants that are too short. There are certain lengths for capris and flood pants, but the worst thing for your figure is pants that are too short, and cut off the leg. You want to make sure that your pants are long enough to cover most of your shoe. The longer, the better. See the reoccurring theme here? Long lines create long legs which creates a slimmer look!

5 – POINTED TOE SHOES: Ahh, one of my secret weapons. Pointed toe shoes are going to be the final touch when you're dressing slim. Whether they're flats or heels, pointed toe shoes allow the length of the pant to flow into a point, which lets the line we've created end in a natural place. Rounded toe shoes tend to cut off the line, making legs look stumpy.

6 – WEAR DARK COLORS: This one is a given. Dressing in dark colors is very slimming. Instead of the traditional black, opt for something a little more unexpected, like charcoal or navy. If you'd like something other than a solid color item, look for a dark woven tweed, or subtle pinstripe. Style Note: Try not to dress in head-to-toe dark colors. If you're wearing dark pants, pair them with a fun bright top, or a top in contrasting color. Remember, we're dressing slim, not going to a funeral.

7 – DON'T BE CLINGY: When shopping for pants, try and look for pants made of heavier fabrics so they don't cling to your leg. There's nothing worse than fabrics clinging to your body, showcasing all of your flaws. Look for fabrics that are flowy and light, which tend to pull away from the body.

8 – FOCUS ON YOUR ASSETS: Every single one of us have wonderful assets that we want to play up. If you have gorgeous legs, go for a nice full knee length skirt. If you've got great arms, go for sleeveless tops. Got a great waist? Play it up with a blazer that cinches at the waist, or add a belt to pull it in.

9 – BACK POCKETS: This is also something else that is an afterthought for most of us. Pocket size on jeans can really make or break the jeans. Pockets can either make your bum look bigger or can really flatter it. When shopping, look for jeans that have decent size pockets, relative to size of the seat. Steer very clear of too tiny pockets that can make your bottom look huge. Instead look for fun cargo flap pockets or bigger pockets that are situated lower on the jeans to make your bottom look higher. Try on as many styles and washes as possible to ensure you get the best look.

10 – A-LINE ISN'T FOR ALL OF US: A-line dresses and skirts were always known as the best skirts out there, that flattered everyone. Well, that's not always true. A-line dresses can create a tent effect and give you a shapeless look and add pounds within minutes. Always try on a dress before buying, and find out if A-line works for you. Style Note: Empire waist tops and dresses can create the same effect, so watch out for babydoll style tops.
